BLUES DYNAMIC OWNERSHIP GROUP 2.0

Annapolis Blues FC are excited to announce two local business and community leaders, Daniel Wellington and Jake Iversen have joined the dynamic Annapolis Blues Ownership Group that already includes former MLS General Manager Hitch, former MLS player Alex Yi, US National Team star Kyle Beckerman, local business & community leaders Brandon & Caite Bartlett, Ethan Dietrich and local sports broadcasting legend Dave Johnson.

Annapolis Blues Owner & Managing Partner Hitch shared his thoughts on the exciting addition to the Ownership Group, “With the addition of Daniel and Jake, we just got stronger as an Ownership Group. I’m proud of the Ownership Group we’ve assembled that includes a perfect combination of professional soccer experience, sports management and marketing expertise and local business and community leaders. It really is a dynamic ownership group who is committed to building a community club that Annapolis will be proud to support. Let’s GO!”

Daniel Wellington

Daniel Wellington is a long time Maryland resident, having lived most of that time in the Annapolis area. He is a married father of five who enjoys coaching youth soccer and volunteering at his children’s school. Wellington spent the largest part of his career in financial services. With a strong entrepreneurial drive, he started and built a successful global financial services company, specializing in secure commercial foreign currency payments and risk management. After his company’s sale in 2013, Wellington has focused his efforts on investing in and advising many early-stage entrepreneurial ventures across a wide range of industries. He remains an active investor in promising companies, while also building and managing a real estate portfolio.

Daniel enjoys personal interests in cycling, writing, travel, mindfulness practices and quality time with his family. He also is a board member of the DeCesaris Prout Cancer foundation, an Annapolis based non-profit organization and is actively pursuing other initiatives that will be of service to the community.

Daniel added, “The Wellington family is proud to be part of the ownership group of the Annapolis Blues and believe strongly that this is a great way to give back to the community while having a lot of fun in the process. Go Blues!”

Jake Iversen

Jake Iversen is the President of Watermark Tours, Charters, and Cruises. A local business owner and long-time Annapolitan, Jake attended the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies and traveled internationally as an officer on unlimited tonnage vessels upon oceans, prior to returning to Annapolis to oversee vessel activities for Watermark. He served in a land-based role as General Manager for five years before purchasing the company with his wife, Laura.

Jake has a passion for boating and a passion for soccer. He grew up playing rec ball. Jake recalls lasting friendships and a strengthened focus on academics when staying active. As Captain on the water and Coach on the field for his daughter, Sky, Jake encourages everyone to stay committed and go the distance with whatever it is they love.

Iversen shared his thoughts about joining the Annapolis Blues Ownership Group, “I am honored to join forces with Annapolis Blues in ownership and on the Board of Directors. Most exciting is being part of a community where the sport of American soccer is shared locally. Fans unite!”
