Community Shield raises money for Rebuilding Together before 3,915 fans
The Annapolis Blues played the first game in Club History at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium on Wednesday, May 10th before 3,915 fans. The Community Shield against Major League Soccers' Philadelphia Union Development Squad was a pre-season match to benefit Rebuilding Together Anne Arundel County. What will become an annual tradition, the Annapolis Blues will host a pre-season match to benefit a great local charity. In the inaugural Community Shield, the Blues won 3-0 with an impressive 3 goal first half. But the real winner on the night is Annapolis soccer community who came together for a great night of soccer and charity. The Annapolis Blues Owners, Staff, Coaches and players will use the money donated to volunteer and help rebuild houses in Annapolis for residents in need. That's why we call this The Beautiful Game. The first NPSL game in club history is on the road on May 13th in Greenville, North Carolina against fellow expansion side Greenville United.
